Outdoor activities at the Farmhouse Inn center on Hundred Acre Farm’s rolling hills including open meadows, wooded trails, fishing ponds and the shoreline of the Apalachee River. Just outside the guest rooms, a relaxing stroll begins in the community vegetable garden. With grape arbors, vegetable and herb beds and an assortment of berries growing, the garden refreshes the soul. A short walk brings you to the barnyard with goats, sheep, miniature horses, chickens and barn cats. Inquisitive animals make friends fast with animal lovers of all ages. Grab a walking stick and take off on over 5 miles of marked trails from wooded, creek-side gulleys to the river meadows with wide open spaces perfect for shore and open meadow bird-watching. Ask to use our birding basket with binoculars, bird call recordings and books for identifying birds both large and small. Bring a picnic and relax at the Riverside Landing with a shade tarp, bonfire pit and chairs. Two fishing ponds and the Apalachee River make fine fishing holes. Bring your pole or borrow one from us. A golf cart is available for guest use for those without the time or leg power to get around.
